Returning Sunshiners are ready for another creepy journey into the life of a luiseach. This time around, we get to know more about Sunshine’s past. Her father, who abandoned Sunshine when she was young, (relatable to teens and their conversive family issues) has invited her to Mexico where she ends up learning more about how to become a true luiseach.
Her intensive training leads Sunshine to learn about the history of being a luiseach and why she was chosen to become one. Some new friends come into the plot as well, however, we are still attached and care for our beloved characters in the first novel, aka, Nolan. This time, Nolan may be in trouble as someone is watching him closely while Sunshine is away.
There are still plenty of mysterious leads and eerie encounters for you to keep anxiously awaiting the cliffhanger that leaves you craving the next book in the series. Another reason you will like it: Love Triangle time! Wooooooo! Can’t have a YA novel without two completely opposite boys trying to steal the same heart! Teehee.

“I feel the town before I see it. I mean, I feel the heat of a place on fire. The taste of smoke fills my throat. I can barely breathe.” -Sunshine, Paige McKenzie, The Awakening of Sunshine Girl
